Summerville Auto Auction is open to the public, as well as dealers and wholesalers. Buying a car at Summerville Auto Auction is easy. Here are some of the steps involved: » All buyers must pre-register in the office prior to bidding. » Buyers must be 18 years of age or older and have a driver's license or state issued picture ID. » Buyers must pay a non-refundable registration fee and a deposit, at which time you will be issued a bidders credential. » Proceed out to the block area to bid on the vehicle of your choice. » When you are the successful bidder on a vehicle, you will return to the counter to complete your transaction.
BIDDING A car will come to the auction block. The car may be running, with doors and hood open for inspection. The auctioneer will then start the bidding. When the car you are interested in comes to the block, raise your hand or your bidder's number to make a bid. Bid only if the price is the price you want to pay. A staff member will assist you to make certain the auctioneer sees your bid. The highest bidder buys the car. Most sales are subject to a reserve bid, which means there is a minimum price the auctioneer can accept. All sales are final. Good Luck! Remember, you must be 18 years or older to register. You must register in the office to receive a bidder's number in order to bid.
You will be required to turn over your bidders credentials to our staff. You will then be escorted to the office to complete the transaction. Once in the office, our staff will execute the necessary paperwork. Check the accuracy of your agreement before signing. No vehicle can be removed from auction grounds until paid in full. Failure to promptly pay in full for any vehicle purchased, before the close of business, will automatically result in a FORFEITURE of your deposit. Full payment will include such fees as vehicle purchase price, buyer's fee, administrative fee, SC sales tax, fleet/lease fee (if applicable) and TeleCheck charges, if you are paying by check If your bid is accepted subject to "PHONE CALL", the bid is contingent upon the seller's approval, however the full purchase price must be paid before the close of business. Should seller reject the "PHONE CALL" bid or not respond by 3pm the next business day, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price, excluding any TeleCheck charges. "Title Attached (TA) Sales" mean that the seller has 45 days to deliver the title to SAA. Assignable title will not accompany vehicle on sale night. If the title is not received by SAA within 45 days, the bidder may return the vehicle for "no title". You will receive a refund of purchase price, excluding TeleCheck charges. Buyers must pick up and sign for title in person at Summerville Auto Auction. We link buyers to sellers, with the area's largest selection of used car inventory: domestic and foreign cars, vans, trucks, sport utilities, motorcycles, boats, charitable donations, bank repossessions, off-lease vehicles and much more! Summerville Auto Auction offers its patrons a bright

You must have a clear title, in your name. Picture ID will be required. If the seller is not the titled owner, the seller must have a notarized power of attorney before the vehicle can be sold at the auction. Titles with the following defects will not be accepted: documents not authorized, jumping signatures, alterations, erasures, wrong digits, improper re-assignments, missing forms, mileage problems. Vehicle must be on property to be assigned a number. Please remove all personal effects from your vehicle, as the auction is not responsible for these items. The counter clerk will request your title. We will also need your exact odometer reading, as you will be responsible for the correct mileage. Tell the clerk how you wish to sell your vehicle. Public sellers will be responsible for a seller's registration fee. If your vehicle is sold a sales and administration fee will be deducted from your proceeds check. If your vehicle does not sell, you may opt to re-run your vehicle for an additional fee. When your vehicle comes up to the auction block, stand by the auctioneer and tell him what price you want for the vehicle. Be honest: the auctioneer is there to sell your car! After the last bid is received, the auctioneer will confirm the highest bid with you. You have the right to accept or reject the bid. If you accept it, the vehicle is SOLD and you cannot change your mind.
All buyers must pre-register in the office prior to bidding. You are required to be 18 years of age or older and have a driver's license or state issued ID as identification for bidder registration (this is also the name the vehicle will be titled in). Upon payment of a non-refundable registration fee and a deposit, you will be issued with a bidders credential. The deposit will be credited to any auto purchase. If you don't buy a vehicle, the deposit will be refunded. Personal and business checks may be accepted if approved by Telecheck. All checks are subject to an additional charge of 5%. Bidder will be responsible for the 5% charge even if bidder's check is not approved by TeleCheck. You may inspect the vehicles on our outside lot on sale days after 4:00 pm before they are auctioned. No test drives are allowed. Please base your bid on this inspection. You may bring your mechanic to our lot to inspect your vehicle choices, as each vehicle is sold "as is, where is". All sales are FINAL! Any person found tampering with or removing equipment from vehicles will be subject to suspension from the sale and possible prosecution. When a car comes to the auction block bidding begins so listen carefully to the auctioneer for all announcements. The selling light system and arbitration policies are for the benefit of and only available to licensed dealers. You will be held financially responsible for any bids tendered. Make sure you know what you are bidding on. Raise your hand to bid, making sure the auctioneer recognizes your bid. Once the auctioneer announces that the vehicle is sold to you, you are the absolute purchaser.
